Great book for Christian women

This book is practical and inspirational. Written by a mentor and her merea ("Mah-RAY-ah," one she mentored), this interactive Bible study has really inspired me. I love the humorous ARNF's at the end of each chapter (Always Remember and Never Forget!). My husband and I have laughed at those often. This book will help those who hesitate to mentor because they don't know what to do, or don't feel qualified to guide another in her spiritual walk. The book has a great group guide if a group of mentors want to discuss what they've learned in this bookand/or through their mentoring relationships. It also includes an inspirational commissioning service at the end, for a church group to use as a formal way of dedicating members to mentor others. While written for women, it can be used by men. The writers must work well together. They have done an excellent job of touching the heart.. I highly recommend it. It will make you laugh and cry--and teach you how to take others under your wing and show them what you've learned from your experience in life.

TEN YEARS AGO AS I TRAVELED SPEAKING AT WOMEN'S RETREATS AND CONFERENCES, I REALIZED MOST WOMEN DESPERATELY NEED MENTORING ADVICE. IN TRANSIENT AMERICA, WE LIVE APART FROM EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS, OUR IMMEDIATE FAMILIES ARE DWINDLING, AND NEIGHBORHOODS DON'T PROVIDE THE CLOSENESS THEY ONCE DID. IN THE SHIFTING SAND OF TODAY'S SOCIETY, WOMEN NEED SOMEONE TO GUIDE, COUNSEL, AND BEFRIEND THEM. WHEN I MET TRICIA SCRIBNER, WHO ASKED ME TO MENTOR HER IN HER WRITING, SHE DESIGNED A QUESTIONNAIRE AND WE DISTRIBUTED IT IN AMERICA, GERMANY AND ENGLAND. I'm excited to tell readers that Woman to Woman: Preparing Yourself to Mentor is going to its third reprint in a few months. I am reading through it right now to make edits and updates, where needed. Edna and I are overjoyed that Woman to Woman is still helping women fulfill God's call to take younger women under their wings and guide them along. May the Lord encourage and equip you all as mentors as a way of life in the coming year! And Edna, I still love you and thank God you have become my life mentor! I pray that every woman has the joy of a friendship like ours!
